Meet Buddy – Founder & Lead Tattoo Instructor
Buddy began tattooing professionally in 1991 and has spent his career dedicated to tattooing, education and raising professional standards within the industry.
He established Living Art Tattoo Studio in Limerick City, Ireland, in 1991, opening what became Limerick City’s first tattoo studio. Since then, Buddy has built a long-standing reputation for high-quality work, professionalism and exceptional customer care.
His passion for teaching led to the creation of London Tattoo Academy, where he has trained over 1,000 students from the UK, Europe and beyond, helping complete beginners take their first steps into the tattoo industry.
Buddy believes that becoming a successful tattoo artist is about far more than simply learning how to tattoo. His courses combine practical technical skills with hygiene, client care, professionalism, business knowledge and the confidence needed to build a long and successful career.
Known for his patient, hands-on teaching style and ongoing support, Buddy is passionate about helping students develop into safe, confident and professional tattoo artists. Small class sizes ensure that every student receives personal guidance and individual attention throughout their training.
Today, Buddy brings the same proven training programme to London Tattoo Academy España, offering professional tattoo training in both English and Spanish, while maintaining the same standards, structure and support that have guided students for many years.

Meet Raul – Lead Spanish Tattoo Instructor
Raul has been tattooing professionally since 1997 and has dedicated his career to continually developing his skills, expanding his knowledge and refining his craft. As a native Spanish speaker, he has travelled extensively, working alongside talented artists from different backgrounds and gaining valuable experience from a wide range of tattoo styles and techniques.
Alongside his work as a professional tattoo artist, Raul has also developed a passion for teaching. As Lead Spanish Instructor at London Tattoo Academy España, he will deliver our Spanish-language tattoo courses using the proven London Tattoo Academy curriculum, developed by Buddy through more than three decades of professional tattooing and teaching experience.
Working closely with Buddy, Raul is committed to ensuring that every Spanish-speaking student receives exactly the same high standard of training, guidance and support that has become the foundation of London Tattoo Academy.
Raul has a particular appreciation for the history and traditions of Polynesian tattooing. His commitment to understanding these traditions led him to spend five years studying under a respected Samoan master in New Zealand, where he gained a deeper understanding of the history, philosophy and cultural significance of traditional Tatau.
Out of respect for these traditions, this is not a Tatau course. Instead, Raul shares the knowledge and understanding he has gained throughout his journey, helping students appreciate the history, discipline and respect that have shaped tattooing for generations.
Known for his calm approach, professionalism and willingness to share his knowledge, Raul is passionate about helping aspiring tattoo artists build confidence, develop strong technical foundations and begin their careers with the right mindset from day one.
